Welcome !
Hi, I’m Victor Villa and I currently work at the intersection of data, policy, and sustainable development. My background is in economics, with a master’s degree in spatial, transport, and environmental economics. During my studies at the University of Genoa and the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, I developed a strong interest in climate and sustainability issues, as well as a multidisciplinary understanding of how data, markets, and environmental factors interact in shaping sustainable development pathways.
Over the past years, my work has centered on managing and coordinating analytical projects with a particular focus on socio-economic resilience in Africa.

🌍 Climate & Resilience
On the technical side, my experience involves statistical and econometric analysis of the relationships between socio-economic and environmental dynamics. This includes working with socio-economic data such as price trends, financial flows, labor migration, income generation, food insecurity, conflict, and displacement, together with climate and environmental indicators. In my past work, I combined different approaches such as econometric modeling with spatial analysis and feature selection techniques using machine learning.
As a project manager, I have supported and coordinated initiatives in a wide range of contexts, from collaborations with national and local governments in large and capital cities to workshops and field activities in more challenging environments across Ethiopia, Somalia, Senegal, and Kenya. I have also worked closely with rural communities to understand local priorities and co-design solutions informed by indigenous knowledge and context-specific insights. Within international organizations, I have combined data-driven analysis with strategic planning and stakeholder coordination, contributing to initiatives implemented across the regions.
After several years working in development and humanitarian contexts, I am also interested in collaborating with the private sector, recognizing its central role in driving systemic change and sustainable innovation. I see this as an opportunity to complement my analytical and project-management experience with new perspectives that can bridge public, private, and research-driven approaches to sustainability
